I wanna start off with some simple math. 6 divided by 18 is .33333333, or some say 33%. 9 divided by 18 is .50. 6 divided by 9 is .66. Why do these matter? Six rings in 9 tries over 18 years equals domination. The Patriots won the Super Bowl last night and even though I was way too sloshed to remember everything, the highlights refreshed my rotten memory.
The trade deadline is less than a week away and there’s already been the same amount of petty drama and rumors as a private high school in California. Yesterday, we saw the Knicks basically trade their best player, Kristaps Porzingis, to the Mavericks for a pack of gum and a 2 dollar bill.
There’s a long list of players in the past couple of years who have been reportedly going to the Lakers in free agency or by trade. LeBron was going to go no matter what because he always gets what he wants and can’t be loyal to his team that he wanted to win infinite championships with. Then we heard reports that Paul George and Kawhi Leonard were dead-set on teaming up in LA. Now we have reporters claiming Kyrie, Klay, and The Brow are going to be there next season. I’ve even seen some bullshit that Durant wants to join LeBron too.
Its all a flaming heap of bullshit. NONE of those players, besides maybe Davis, will be a Laker. Paul George stayed loyal to OKC, and I believe Kawhi found a home in Toronto. If Davis is traded, the Lakers will lose many of the young players that would be integral parts of their future and they might be able to grab on free agent, maybe 2. Klay should just go somewhere better. Kyrie should stay in Boston, especially if they do end up making a go at Davis in the future. Durant won’t go to the Lakers, he’s had enough bad publicity. And it’s funny because no matter how many LA teams are loaded with talent and dick-ridden by the media, they usually choke when it matters (knock on wood). Only time will tell, but it seems like the Lakers and their fans are getting way too caught up in the hype, similar to when they drafted that bust Lonzo in front of at least 20 other players better than him.
First off, I’m going to give a shoutout to my buddy Duke Large who runs a basketball podcast called “DameTime!” on his website. He shouted out Degenerate Sports on there and I’ll return the favor for him. I’m a feature guest speaker on his latest episode so give it a look at dukelarge.com.
The playoffs are where legends are formulated. Tom Brady is the embodiment of the franchise QB and is possibly the most successful athlete of all time. And mostly because of his postseason success. My philosophy about sports is nothing is more important to a player’s legacy or greatness than winning championships. Tom Brady hasn’t done just that, but he’s dominated the entire league since he stepped foot on the gridiron. This is the most important game he and the Pats will ever play, and for several reasons…
Technically, the All-Star break is the “halfway point” in the NBA season, but every team has technically surpassed the 41 game mark. So I’m going to give you guys my mid-season thoughts.
Congrats to all the people who bet against Alabama last night, which is probably 95% of America. Bama is to college football what the Yankees, Patriots, LeBron James, and Duke are to their respective sports. People fucking LOVE when they get embarrassed. You love to hate any team or person that has the most success in their sport and that’s just human nature. Whether it’s out of jealousy or just straight hatred, that’s just sports for you. Bama has been the most consistent dynasty in sports besides the Pats, and they faced Jennifer Aniston and the Clemson Tigers in the title game. Easy win, right? Nope. The Tigers proved last night that the saying “You throw a football like a girl” is actually a compliment, their offense is the best in the FBS, and their destruction of Notre Dame wasn’t a fluke. They absolutely eviscerated Alabama’s defense on the ground and through the air. They held the Tide scoreless in the whole second half. Saban’s team choked harder than Stormy Daniels when she thought screwing Trump was a good idea. As of now, Clemson is the team to beat. And Trevor Lawrence is just gonna get better every year. All he’s gotta do is use some of his illegal paycheck he’ll receive next year to see a damn barber.
